The story behind it:
Jamawar fabrics (or Jamavar) originally came from Persia and reached a true high point under the reign of the Muslim Mughal emperors in India. They were made of pure silk and woven by hand, so that sometimes it took years (if not decades) for a single scarf to be finished. With the invention of the jacquard loom in the late 18th century, the Jamavars became accessible to a wider audience and were no longer reserved for the royal and aristocratic circles.
The design is completely woven into the fabric and creates a magnificent and distinctive appearance with its elaborate paisley motifs and lush floral patterns.
