The story behind it:
In 2006, the French Laetitia Charachon founded the small but fine label “Platane” in the historic quarter of “French Consession” in Shanghai. It was named after the many original French plane trees, hundreds of which were brought to Shanghai in the 19th century, and which still shade the small streets in the center of today’s Shanghai. If the plane tree was the godfather for the name, the charming fusion spirit of the district is the inspiration for “Platane’s” homeware collection: traditional Chinese craftsmanship is combined with international design.
